Senior BJP leader R. Ashoka declared that the BJP would hold a demonstration outside the Karnataka Congress office in Bengaluru, criticizing Rahul Gandhi and the Congress for prioritizing “political drama” over pressing issues like the NEET problem and the drought situation in Karnataka. Ashoka highlighted the Congress’s focus on protests in Delhi rather than addressing the severe drought affecting various parts of Karnataka.

He accused the state government, including Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and other officials, of neglecting the drought crisis and engaging in political activities in the national capital instead. Ashoka emphasized the widespread impact of drought in the state, urging the government to declare drought conditions and allocate funds for drinking water projects in every Assembly constituency and taluk.

Demanding the establishment of taluk-level drought task forces for prompt action, Ashoka criticized the Congress for its protests in Delhi regarding the NEET issue, alleging political opportunism. He specifically targeted Rahul Gandhi for participating in these demonstrations while overlooking critical issues in Karnataka, such as the recent deaths during the RCB victory celebrations in Bengaluru.

Ashoka raised concerns about accountability in the aftermath of the tragic incident during the RCB celebrations, questioning the lack of responsibility and alleged negligence in addressing the matter. The BJP’s planned protest outside the Congress office aims to underscore what Ashoka perceives as the Congress leadership’s failure to address the state’s urgent needs, with a call for improved governance and responsiveness.
