The bodies of three labourers working on the Omkareshwar-Mortakka road project were found in the main canal of the Omkareshwar Dam after a two-day search operation. The incident took place near Kothi village, close to Omkareshwar, where the men had gone for a bath. When they did not return, a search was initiated by the police and their co-workers.

Omkareshwar police station SHO A.K. Sindhiya mentioned that the bodies of Sunil Sahu and Aniket Yadav were discovered downstream from where they were last seen. The bodies of Bhagwan Das were found further downstream. Initial investigations suggest that one of the men may have faced difficulties while bathing, prompting the others to enter the water to help, resulting in a tragic drowning incident.

Search teams recovered all three bodies, which were then sent for post-mortem examinations. Following legal procedures, the bodies were handed over to their respective families. Authorities are conducting further investigations to determine the precise events that led to the unfortunate incident.
