Amid the charged political atmosphere in West Bengal following the Assembly poll dates announcement, a local Trinamool Congress worker’s body was discovered in a mutilated state in Minakhan of North 24 Parganas district. Identified as Moshiur Kazi, a resident of Gangnia village, the deceased was found with multiple slash wounds by local residents in Jhujhurgacha village.
The brutal murder of the 38-year-old Trinamool worker has sparked outrage in the region just before the elections. His brother, confirming the identity, stated that the victim was brutally hacked to death, emphasizing a history of political enmity. Authorities have initiated investigations to determine if the killing was due to political rivalry or past disputes.
A senior officer from Basirhat Police District mentioned that the victim’s face was so disfigured that locals initially couldn’t recognize him. The body, now undergoing autopsy, has raised concerns over the safety of political workers in the area. The police are actively pursuing the case under relevant sections to bring justice to the deceased and his family.
