In a recent development, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh was threatened by the Bishnoi gang, demanding Rs 10 crore through a voice note from an American number. The Mumbai Police are reaching out to the U.S. authorities to trace the origin of the threatening message. The investigation revealed that Harry Boxer, a close associate of the Bishnoi gang, sent the extortion demand to Ranveer Singh.
The Mumbai crime branch confirmed that the voice note, sent to Ranveer’s manager via WhatsApp, contained Harry Boxer’s voice. The threat was issued following a shooting incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. Security has been heightened around Ranveer Singh after the threat emerged, and the police are collecting more evidence in the case. While no FIR has been filed yet, a preliminary inquiry has been initiated.
Ranveer Singh is set to star in the upcoming film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge,’ a sequel to the hit movie ‘Dhurandhar.’ Scheduled for release on March 19, the film also features R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. The storyline revolves around an Indian intelligence agent’s mission to dismantle a terror network in Pakistan. The movie draws inspiration from real-life events in South Asia, including the IC-814 hijacking and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
