A bomb explosion near Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan damaged a section of the railway track, leading to the suspension of train services. The blast occurred on the main railway track in the Notal area of Nasirabad district before the Jaffar Express from Peshawar to Quetta arrived at the site. Railway officials stopped the Jaffar Express at Dera Murad Jamali and halted train services between Quetta and other regions until repairs are completed.
After the explosion, a significant police presence, including the bomb disposal squad and security forces, conducted a search operation at the site to apprehend those responsible for the incident. This incident follows a previous attack on the Jaffar Express in the Bolan Pass area of Balochistan, where armed men targeted the train while it was en route from Quetta to Peshawar. Despite security personnel retaliating, the attackers managed to escape.
In another recent incident, a blast targeted the Quetta-bound Jaffar Express in the Shikarpur district of Sindh, resulting in seven injuries. The explosion occurred near the Sultan Kot railway station, causing injuries to passengers. Earlier this year, the Baloch Liberation Army’s Majeed Brigade hijacked the Jaffar Express, taking over 400 individuals as hostages, leading to a standoff that lasted over 24 hours near Tunnel No. 8 of the Bolan Pass.
