A bomb threat at the Bikaner Court complex in Rajasthan caused panic as authorities evacuated the premises and heightened security measures on Thursday. Police swiftly cordoned off the area and commenced a thorough search of the complex, alarming lawyers, litigants, and court staff. The police administration, in response to the alert, promptly secured the entire area and evacuated the court premises as a precautionary step.
On the directives of senior police officials, a significant police presence was deployed at the scene, with bomb disposal squads and dog squads summoned for an extensive search of the complex. Judicial activities were temporarily suspended, and all individuals present, including employees, advocates, and litigants, were instructed to vacate the premises for their safety.
In light of the circumstances, Bikaner Bar Association President Ajay Kumar Purohit urged calm among advocates and the public, advising them to seek refuge in safe locations. Purohit liaised with senior police officials to highlight the gravity of the situation and issued safety guidelines to lawyers and staff.
Police authorities have initiated an inquiry into the origin of the threat, aiming to trace the source of the call or message. While the nature of the threat, whether genuine or a hoax, remains unclear, authorities are treating the situation with utmost seriousness.
