Three district collectorate offices in Rajasthan, namely Ajmer, Dholpur, and Barmer, were targeted by bomb threat emails on Tuesday, causing panic among officials. The threatening emails, received around 11:45 a.m., led to the immediate evacuation of the premises as a precautionary measure. Security agencies, including police teams, bomb disposal squads, and dog squads, conducted thorough searches, but no suspicious objects have been discovered yet.
The Barmer District Collectorate, reportedly receiving the threat from Tamil Nadu, was sealed off entirely, and a comprehensive search operation was initiated by Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the threatening email. Similarly, the Ajmer District Collectorate faced its third bomb threat this month during the Urs festival, with District Collector Lokbandhu receiving the alarming email, prompting swift evacuation measures by the police.
In Dholpur, the Collectorate also received a similar bomb threat via email, leading to the evacuation of the building and nearby offices as a safety precaution. Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan oversaw the search operation, which involved a dog squad team from Bharatpur. Authorities mentioned that cyber teams are actively working to trace the origin of these threatening emails.
