The FIFA World Cup 2026 Group B spotlight shines on Bosnia and Herzegovina, the team that stunned Italy to secure a spot in the tournament. Canada will host its first-ever Men’s World Cup matches, commencing with a clash against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto. Switzerland, the highest-ranked team in the group, adds to the diverse mix of confederations competing.

Co-hosting with Mexico and the United States, Canada eyes a historic World Cup victory on home soil. Under coach Jesse Marsch, the Canadian team has transformed into a high-energy, pressing side with a balanced roster. Star player Alphonso Davies leads the charge, but Canada will rely on collective efforts to progress in the tournament.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, making only their second World Cup appearance, eliminated Italy in a dramatic UEFA play-off final. Led by captain Edin Dzeko, the team boasts a physical playing style and aims to upset technical opponents. With a focus on wing play, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s underdog status could work to their advantage in the expanded 48-team format.

Qatar returns to the World Cup seeking to build on its 2022 debut. Coach Julen Lopetegui guides a squad blending experience with youthful ambition, anchored by star player Akram Afif. The team’s tactical balance and resilience will be tested against formidable opponents in Group B. Left-back Homam Al-Amin’s experience playing abroad adds a crucial element to Qatar’s defensive setup.

Switzerland, a Group B favorite, boasts a structured and defensively disciplined system under coach Murat Yakin. With a core of seasoned players like Granit Xhaka, the Swiss team prioritizes stability and clinical transitions. Xhaka’s leadership and Johan Manzambi’s emerging talent are key assets as Switzerland aims for a deep World Cup run.
