BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of orchestrating political theatrics around the Hyderabad Metro Rail issue. Rao claimed they are concealing a potential scam involving Metro Rail assets valued at nearly Rs 30,000 crore.
Rao addressed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) cadres in Serilingampally, alleging that Revanth Reddy aimed to transfer around 250 acres of valuable Metro Rail-related land and assets worth Rs 30,000 crore to his family and associates. He further claimed that the Chief Minister coerced L&T Metro Rail officials out of the State to pave the way for this asset transfer.
The BRS leader, popularly known as KTR, asserted that Revanth Reddy sought to burden Telangana residents with L&T Metro Rail’s debt of almost Rs 14,000 crore to gain control over Metro Rail assets. He warned that the State government’s actions could push the Metro Rail project into financial distress by assuming liabilities that should belong to the private company.
KTR highlighted that the sudden interest shown by the Chief Minister in the Metro Rail project was a smokescreen for a larger financial scandal. He emphasized that BRS had consistently exposed alleged scams and was now cautioning the public about another potential major scam.
Questioning the intentions of both the BJP and Congress governments, KTR queried why the Centre had not approved the Metro Rail expansion proposed by the previous BRS government. He criticized the lack of support for Telangana’s development compared to other states and accused Revanth Reddy and Kishan Reddy of collaborating to divert public attention.
