The brutal murder of two minors, a teenage boy, and a girl, in Jharkhand’s Khunti district has caused fear in the area. The incident took place in Model Village Jivri under the Soyko police station limits. The victims were allegedly attacked by unidentified assailants with sharp-edged weapons, leading to their deaths. Their bodies were found at the foothills of the Marangburu hills after local residents informed the police.

The deceased, identified as Bisu Pahan (16) and Sumi Mundu (17), were residents of Bada Jivri. The tragic event unfolded after a Chhau dance program in the Soyko area, which both victims had attended. Following an argument between Bisu and a group of youths, the situation escalated, resulting in the abduction of the teenagers. They were taken to a nearby field, where they were brutally assaulted and killed with sharp weapons.

After the heinous act, the perpetrators disposed of the bodies at the foothills of the Marangburu hills in an apparent effort to cover their tracks. Villagers who discovered the bodies alerted the authorities, leading to the recovery by the police. The bodies were then sent for postmortem examination and later handed over to the families for final rites after the autopsy.

Village head Binsai Munda has raised concerns that the incident might be linked to a potential love affair. Superintendent of Police Rishabh Garg of Khunti stated that the two minors were present at the Chhau program before the tragic events unfolded. He mentioned that the police are investigating all possible angles and have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to apprehend the culprits. Raids are currently being conducted to locate and arrest the suspects.
