Continuing their crackdown on drug-related activities, Budgam Police in Jammu and Kashmir attached residential properties of two drug peddlers in the Chadoora area. The first property, a one-storey house valued at around Rs 30 lakh, belonged to Ghulam Nabi Wani and was linked to a case under the NDPS Act. This property was found to have been used for storing and distributing contraband substances, including 300 kilograms of poppy husk discovered last year.
In another case, a two-storey residential house worth approximately Rs 50–55 lakh, owned by Mohd Hashim Raina in Hassipora Chadoora, was also attached by the police. This action was taken in connection with a case involving the recovery of over 9 kgs of a Charas-like substance from a saw-mill in village Kasermulla, Chadoora. These seizures are part of the efforts to dismantle drug networks and target assets acquired through illegal drug trade.
The Budgam Police emphasized their commitment to eliminating the drug menace from society and stated that strict legal actions would be taken against those involved in narcotics trafficking and related unlawful activities. A state-wide crackdown on drug traffickers is ongoing in the Union Territory, with the police urging the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
