A bus accident in the Reni police station area of Alwar district, Rajasthan, left several passengers injured, with six in critical condition. The bus lost control on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, crashed through a guardrail, and overturned. Among the 42 passengers, including women, men, and children, many sustained minor injuries, while others were more seriously hurt.
The injured were taken to Pinan Hospital with the assistance of locals and emergency teams. Six passengers with severe injuries were later transferred to Alwar District Hospital for advanced care. Initial investigations suggest that the driver might have momentarily fallen asleep, leading to the mishap. Authorities are conducting further inquiries to determine the precise cause of the crash.
The accident caused significant damage to the bus, which most passengers were sleeping in when it overturned. Survivors recounted waking up to a loud crash, finding themselves trapped inside the damaged vehicle amidst chaos and cries for help. Police and villagers promptly initiated rescue operations, aiding passengers in escaping and transporting the injured to nearby medical facilities by ambulance.
At Alwar District Hospital, four passengers remain in critical condition. They are identified as Geeta (63), Lalita (57), Vimala (55), and Harishankar (62), hailing from various places in Sawai Madhopur and Gangapur City. The pilgrims were en route from Shyopura in Madhya Pradesh to Govardhan for a religious event. Reni SHO Bane Singh Meena oversaw the rescue efforts, ensuring the safe evacuation of all passengers from the overturned bus with the help of police and locals.
