An unchanged Canada has won the toss and opted to bat first against UAE in a Group D match of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Both teams are seeking their first victory in the tournament. The pitch for this game was previously used during the India-Namibia match.
Canada enters this game after a 57-run loss to South Africa, currently holding the bottom spot with a net run rate of -2.850. On the other hand, UAE, despite a strong batting performance against New Zealand, faced a ten-wicket defeat and currently stands one position above Canada with a net run rate of -2.763.
After winning the toss, Canada’s skipper Dilpreet Bajwa confirmed an unchanged playing eleven. Bajwa expressed the team’s strategy, stating, “We both are associate teams so we just want to bat first and want to put pressure of chase on them. It’s a very good wicket, we saw yesterday’s game and India scored very well. I think it’s a batting pitch.”
UAE’s captain Muhammad Waseem announced changes in the playing eleven, with Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Jawadullah replacing Dhruv Parashar and Muhammad Rohid Khan. Waseem emphasized the importance of restricting Canada to a low total, stating, “No pressure to be honest. Just we have to play the game like we played before also. We’ll play with the ball and with the bat and against the opposition, that’s it.”
