A group of candidates in Ranchi protested against alleged irregularities in the preliminary examination results of the 14th Combined Civil Services Examination by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission. The protesters, organized by the AJSU Students’ Union, marched to the JPSC headquarters demanding a cancellation of the results and an impartial investigation into the recruitment process. They expressed concerns over the delayed release of results, unsigned result documents, undisclosed cut-off marks, and demanded scrutiny of CCTV footage from the night of result declaration.
The demonstrators highlighted discrepancies in an OMR sheet circulating on social media, claiming potential favoritism towards non-local candidates. They insisted on verifying the authenticity of the document, particularly noting instances of unusually high scores by certain candidates. The protesters also criticized the commission’s handling of the examination, citing multiple issuances of the answer key and alleged deviations from standard procedures in result announcement.
Amid a heavy police presence to maintain order, the protesters warned of escalated actions if their grievances were not promptly addressed. They threatened to disrupt traffic along significant routes if their demands were not met. The candidates urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to intervene, calling for a thorough investigation into the exam results, public disclosure of cut-off marks, and strict actions against any responsible parties for the purported irregularities.
