Despite early wickets falling, Lewis remained composed and formed vital partnerships with Leah Paul and Alice Tector.
Ireland faced a tough start as opener Amy Hunter was run out in the first over, setting the stage for a challenging innings. However, Rebecca Stokell’s aggressive batting briefly eased the pressure before Sri Lanka struck back, leaving Ireland struggling at 30/3 at the end of the Power-play.
Lewis and Paul then steadied the ship with a patient partnership, focusing on rotating the strike and rebuilding the innings. Lewis, showing maturity and skill, reached her fifty in 40 balls, guiding Ireland past the 100-run mark and maintaining momentum even after losing partners.
In the 19th over, Sri Lanka managed to dismiss Lewis for 59 runs, but Alice Tector’s unbeaten 28 off 31 balls ensured Ireland finished their innings strongly. Despite disciplined bowling from Sri Lanka, Lewis’ innings was the cornerstone of Ireland’s total, with valuable contributions from her teammates.
