Captain Radha Yadav showcased an outstanding all-round performance, guiding India A to a convincing five-wicket triumph over Sri Lanka A in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 first semifinal. The match, held at the Terdthai Cricket Ground, saw Radha’s exceptional bowling effort restrict Sri Lanka A to a mere 118 runs in 19.4 overs. In response, India A successfully chased down the target in just 13.3 overs, with Dinesh Vrinda contributing 42 runs off 20 balls and Radha remaining unbeaten on 31.
Sri Lanka’s innings began strongly with openers Hansima Karunaratne and Sanjana Kavindi scoring 36 runs in four overs. However, quick wickets in the following overs disrupted their momentum. Despite a brief partnership between Sanjana and Sathya Sandeepani, Sri Lanka struggled as Radha, along with Prema Rawat and Tanuja Kanwer, orchestrated a collapse by taking crucial wickets. Radha’s impressive figures of 4-19 were instrumental in India’s bowling performance.
In the chase, India started steadily, reaching 26 runs in four overs before losing their first wicket. Anushka Sharma’s aggressive batting, including five boundaries in two overs, eased the pressure after the early setback. Although losing key batters, India maintained a strong position, needing only 31 runs in the last five overs. The team comfortably achieved the target in 13.3 overs, with Radha sealing the win with an unbeaten 31.
India A will now advance to the final, scheduled at the same venue on Sunday, facing the winner of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh semifinal.
