Five individuals sustained injuries when a car collided with multiple pedestrians in west London. The incident occurred near Ealing Broadway before 2:30 p.m. local time on Saturday. Two individuals received on-site treatment, while three others were transported to a hospital by the Metropolitan Police. Fortunately, none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
The vehicle involved in the collision did not stop at the scene but was apprehended shortly afterward in Grange Park. The driver, a 34-year-old British man of Somali origin, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and attempted murder.
Authorities mentioned that counter-terrorism officers were involved in the initial investigations due to the incident’s nature. While the motive is yet to be determined, the case is not being treated as a terrorist act.
Emergency response teams, including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, promptly attended the scene to provide medical assistance. Police maintained road closures as they continued their probe into the incident.
