World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz fought back to defeat Arthur Rinderknech at the Indian Wells Open, winning 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-2. Alcaraz faced a tough challenge initially, dropping the first set and falling behind in the second due to Rinderknech’s strong play.

Despite the early setbacks, Alcaraz regained control of the match with improved consistency and composure. He maintained his unbeaten streak in the 2026 season, now standing at 14-0. Alcaraz’s victory extended his winning record on outdoor hard courts to 32 consecutive matches.

Alcaraz will now meet Casper Ruud in the round of 16, holding a 5-1 advantage in their previous encounters. Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev secured a 6-4, 6-0 win over Sebastian Baez, becoming the first player in 2026 to reach 15 singles wins and continuing his six-match winning streak.
