O’Hara, who began her Hollywood career with the Canadian sketch comedy series “Second City Television,” co-created with Eugene Levy, had a career spanning five decades.
O’Hara starred in various films, including “After Hours,” “Beetlejuice,” and the first two “Home Alone” movies. She also appeared in Christopher Guest’s mockumentary films and voiced roles in animated features like “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Chicken Little.”
In recent years, O’Hara gained recognition for her role as Moira Rose in the sitcom “Schitt’s Creek,” which earned her a second Emmy award. She continued to excel in major TV roles and appeared in projects like “The Last of Us” and “The Studio.”
Catherine O’Hara, a beloved figure in Los Angeles, is survived by her husband, production designer Bo Welch, and her children Matthew and Luke, as well as several siblings.
