The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman, Ravi Agarwal, emphasized advancements in quicker return processing, grievance resolution, and litigation reduction during the 167th anniversary of Income Tax Day celebrations in New Delhi. He mentioned the Department’s focus on decreasing disputes, expediting appeals, and ensuring tax certainty through Advance Pricing Agreements. Agarwal also pointed out achievements in swift return processing, appeal-effect orders, and grievance redressal enhancements.

At the event, Agarwal highlighted the Department’s efforts to expand taxpayer outreach through initiatives like PRARAMBH and Samvaad. He underlined the ongoing emphasis on technological advancements through initiatives such as PAN 2.0, ITBA 2.0, IEC 3.0, Kar Saathi, and the SAKSHAM NUDGE framework to simplify compliance and enhance taxpayer experience. Additionally, he commended all CBDT verticals and officers for their contributions to framing Rules and Forms under the Income-tax Act, 2025.

Agarwal reiterated the Department’s dedication to creating a fair, transparent, and reliable tax administration through innovation, collaboration, and citizen-centric governance. The Finance Minister unveiled six flagship publications of the Income Tax Department, reflecting a commitment to knowledge sharing, capacity building, transparency, and taxpayer-centric governance. Revenue Secretary Arvind Shrivastava praised the Department’s efforts in implementing the Income-tax Act, 2025, and new Income-tax Rules and Forms, describing them as significant steps towards a more straightforward, clearer, and taxpayer-friendly tax system.
