The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved the release of director Pandiraaj’s film ‘Parimala & Co’, starring Jayaram and Urvasi, with a U/A certificate. The movie is scheduled to premiere worldwide on June 5. Lyca Productions, one of the film’s production companies, announced the release on social media.
Director Pandiraaj revealed that the film’s script was written during the lockdown as a response to a challenge. The storyline, initially conceived as a web series idea, evolved into a dark comedy film. ‘Parimala & Co’ marks Pandiraaj’s 12th directorial venture, combining elements of thriller and comedy.
The narrative of the film revolves around a family, exploring the unique traits and challenges faced by each member. Shot in Chennai, the storyline transitions to Coimbatore and Palacode. Apart from Jayaram and Urvasi, the cast includes Santhosh Sobhan, Sanchana Krishnamoorthy, and comedian Yogi Babu in significant roles.
Comedians Singam Puli and Baks, along with director Mysskin in a police officer role, add depth to the ensemble cast. The film is a collaborative effort of Lyca Productions, Tamilkumaran Productions, and Pandiraaj’s Pasanga Productions.
