The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended a Superintendent and a Computer Operator from the CGST office in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with a bribery case involving Rs 6,000. Sanjay Meena, the Superintendent, and Yash Sharma, the Computer Operator, were caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification.

The CBI initiated the case against the accused Computer Operator for allegedly soliciting the bribe on behalf of the Superintendent to revoke a Show Cause Notice issued to a complainant. The trap set by the CBI successfully captured the Computer Operator accepting the bribe on behalf of the Superintendent, leading to the arrest of both individuals.

In a separate incident, the CBI had previously detained an Additional Director of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) center in Meerut and her Private Assistant over bribery allegations related to a staff member’s transfer. Natasha Verma, the Additional Director, and her assistant, Sunny, were accused of demanding bribes to facilitate the transfer of a CGHS employee, leading to their arrest by the CBI.
