The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a youth from Uttar Pradesh in connection with the killing of Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The arrest took place at a toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh, with reports suggesting the accused was planning to escape through Delhi.
Identified as Rajkumar Singh from Chhapar, Uttar Pradesh, the accused was captured in a joint operation by the CBI and local police. Despite an earlier raid in Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar area, Rajkumar was not found there. He was eventually nabbed near a toll plaza on the Haridwar-Delhi Highway, around 30 km from Muzaffarpur, as investigators suspected he was attempting to flee via Delhi and Haridwar.
The state police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already arrested three individuals linked to the murder case. Rajkumar Singh’s name emerged during the interrogation of accused Mayank and Raj Singh, according to CBI sources.
