A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a 3D scanning at the Bhopal home of retired judge Giribala Singh regarding the death of her daughter-in-law, Twisha Sharma. The CBI team, accompanied by a heavy police presence, arrived at Giribala Singh’s residence in Katara Hills around 10:30 A.M., with local police securing the area during the operation. This action followed the cancellation of Giribala Singh’s anticipatory bail by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Actress Twisha Sharma was discovered deceased at her marital residence on May 12. Giribala Singh had sought pre-arrest bail from a Bhopal sessions court immediately after the incident, which was granted on May 15. However, the Madhya Pradesh High Court overturned this bail order in a detailed 17-page ruling, emphasizing the need for a more thorough examination of the case’s crucial facts and evidence.
The High Court highlighted WhatsApp conversations and statements from Twisha’s family, suggesting that the accusations extended beyond Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh. It emphasized the necessity for a deeper investigation into the allegations against Giribala Singh under specific legal sections, including those related to dowry harassment. The court also referenced allegations of dowry harassment and pressure to terminate pregnancy made against Giribala Singh and her son.
The postmortem report indicated the cause of Twisha’s death as hanging by ligature, but the High Court noted additional injuries on her body. These injuries, including those on her arm, finger, and head, raised questions about the circumstances surrounding her demise. Concerns were also raised about the possibility of tampering with the crime scene by Giribala Singh, who has a background in cyber forensics and crime scene management.
Madhya Pradesh Advocate General, Prashant Singh, representing the state government, highlighted the seriousness of the case due to the multiple injuries on Twisha Sharma’s body and the lack of cooperation from Giribala Singh. Sources suggest that the CBI may soon arrest Giribala Singh in connection with the case.
