The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has stepped up its investigation into the alleged suspicious death of model-turned-actress Twisha Sharma. The CBI team met with Twisha’s family members in Bhopal’s Army Cantonment area after inspecting the crime scene at accused Samarth Singh’s residence. Twisha reportedly died by suicide on May 12 due to dowry harassment by her in-laws.
Investigators focused on reconstructing the sequence of events surrounding Twisha’s death. They examined the rooftop area of the building and spent considerable time at the residence before moving to the Army Cantonment area where Twisha’s family has been residing since May 13. The agency is expected to question Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, at the Katara Hills Police Station.
Samarth Singh, who is in police custody for seven days, was previously taken to the crime scene by the Special Investigation Team of Madhya Pradesh Police before the case was transferred to the CBI. Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police, Kailash Makwana, stated that the state police had followed legal procedures in their investigation before transferring the case to the CBI.
The case has garnered significant public interest, prompting the CBI to review all collected evidence, including forensic reports, witness testimonies, and digital records.
