The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is employing sophisticated forensic and digital techniques to recreate the sequence of events inside retired district judge Giribala Singh’s home. This reconstruction involves merging various data sources like CCTV footage, mobile phone activity, Wi-Fi logs, internet history, and call records to map out the movements leading to Twisha Sharma’s tragic demise. The investigative focus has sharpened with Giribala Singh and her son being remanded to CBI custody for questioning on allegations of dowry harassment and cruelty.
The digital timeline being constructed aims to precisely determine Twisha’s whereabouts in her final moments, identify active mobile devices, and track online activities within the residence. The intensified probe follows the decision by a Bhopal district court to grant CBI custody of Giribala Singh and her son until June 2. Special Judge Shobhana Bhalave approved this custody to allow the agency to confront the accused with electronic evidence recovered from multiple devices. Additionally, the CBI is scrutinizing whether any digital data was tampered with or concealed during the initial investigation conducted by local authorities.
Giribala Singh was apprehended from her residence in Katara Hills after the Madhya Pradesh High Court revoked her anticipatory bail. The court’s decision was influenced by WhatsApp conversations and family testimonies indicating that the accusations extended beyond her husband. Meanwhile, Twisha’s family lawyer, Anurag Srivastava, has raised concerns about gaps in the initial probe. He highlighted discrepancies in the handling of call records and alleged tampering with CCTV footage before it was seized by the authorities.
