The year-long celebrations honoring the 75th anniversary of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly concluded with the grand finale of the ‘Vidhayi Gaurav Yatra’ at the Assembly premises. Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan graced the event as the Chief Guest, joined by Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, former Speakers, former and current Members of the Legislative Assembly, and various distinguished guests.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, addressing the audience, hailed the completion of 75 years of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly as a significant milestone in India’s democratic journey. He praised the unity shown by members of both the ruling party and the Opposition, emphasizing the maturity of Indian democracy and the reinforcement of democratic values.
Highlighting Rajasthan as a land of courage, sacrifice, honor, and duty, Vice President Radhakrishnan commended public representatives for earning citizens’ confidence through their dedication to public welfare. He stressed the importance of democracy beyond elections, calling for continuous accountability to the people and active participation in Assembly proceedings for effective governance.
Governor Haribhau Bagde underlined the deep-rooted democracy in India’s ancient civilization, citing historical evidence of democratic traditions. Expressing concern over the declining quality of public discourse on social media, he emphasized the preservation of civility, ethical conduct, and democratic decorum. Bagde emphasized that democracy thrives not just on rights but also on duties and responsible public behavior.
