The Government of India recently unveiled the Padma awards, prompting renowned chef Sanjeev Kapoor to reminisce about his 2017 Padma Shri accolade. Sharing a throwback video on his official Instagram, Kapoor revisited the moment he received the prestigious award from former President Pranab Mukherjee. Expressing gratitude, Kapoor described the honor as a validation of his dedication and self-belief over the years.

Highlighting the significance of hard work, Kapoor emphasized that the Padma Shri was not just an award but a recognition of his relentless efforts, learning, and faith in his craft. He acknowledged that honesty in work earns recognition for the nation. Kapoor concluded his post by thanking everyone who supported him on his journey.

In a touching gesture, Kapoor played A.R. Rahman’s “Maa Tujhe Salaam” in the background of his post. The recent Padma awards also include posthumous honors for late actor Dharmendra with Padma Vibhushan and Satish Shah with Padma Shri. Malayalam superstar Mammootty and actor R Madhavan are set to receive Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, respectively.

Sanjeev Kapoor’s culinary journey began in 1992 when he became the youngest Executive Chef at Mumbai’s Centaur Hotel after stints in Varanasi and New Zealand hotels. Renowned for hosting the popular show “Khana Khazana,” Kapoor’s expertise lies in showcasing traditional Indian cuisine.
