The Chairman of the Legislative Council, Basavaraj Horatti, advised Congress MLC Naseer Ahmad to speak respectfully during a session. This occurred as Congress members demanded an apology from BJP MLC C.T. Ravi for his controversial statement. Naseer Ahmad, in turn, called for action against Ravi and accused him of “match-fixing.”

Chairman Horatti reprimanded Naseer Ahmad for his language and disruptive behavior. He warned Naseer Ahmad to refrain from making inappropriate remarks and disrupting proceedings. The Chairman threatened to take action if Naseer Ahmad continued in the same manner.

The situation escalated as the Leader of the Opposition questioned Naseer Ahmad’s allegations of “match-fixing.” Horatti warned Naseer Ahmad to watch his words and behavior, or face expulsion from the House. Naseer Ahmad defended his actions, stating that he knew how to respect the Chair.

Senior Congress members intervened, clarifying that Naseer Ahmad’s remarks were directed at the opposition, not the Chair. Horatti emphasized the need for respectful behavior in the House. Naseer Ahmad eventually complied and refrained from further statements.
