A chartered accountant’s delivery boy and two accomplices were apprehended for orchestrating a robbery and fleeing with Rs 6.5 lakh of office funds in Wazirabad, North Delhi. Ayush Mishra, 20, from Burari, along with Ashu, 28, and Akash, 33, both also from Burari, executed the robbery on May 4 while Ayush was en route to Rajendra Place with the money. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, North District, Raja Banthia, confirmed the swift resolution of the case within 24 hours, leading to the recovery of the stolen cash and two motorcycles.
Ayush initially reported to the police that two individuals on a motorcycle snatched his cash bag at Shiv Mandir, Wazirabad, on May 4. Subsequently, a case was registered at Police Station Wazirabad. During interrogation, Ayush disclosed that a few days before the incident, he and his accomplices had conspired to steal his employer’s money. Following their plan, Ashu provided a motorcycle to Ayush for transporting the cash, while Ashu and Akash tailed him on another motorcycle, seizing the bag of cash and misleading the police by changing routes.
The stolen money was divided among the trio due to financial difficulties they were facing. The investigation involved scrutinizing CCTV footage, which revealed suspicious behavior, including Ayush smiling while the alleged snatchers were trailing him with the cash bag. Further inconsistencies arose, such as the time gap between the incident and when the police were alerted. Ayush eventually confessed to the crime during sustained questioning, leading to the recovery of a portion of the stolen amount and the arrest of his accomplices.
