A chartered flight is scheduled to evacuate South Koreans from the United Arab Emirates this weekend amidst rising tensions in the Middle East. The South Korean Embassy in the UAE will facilitate applications for the 290-seat Etihad Airways flight departing from Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
In response to flight disruptions due to escalating conflicts between Iran and the United States, Seoul aims to repatriate around 3,000 stranded nationals from the UAE. South Korean citizens in the Middle East are being assisted by local diplomatic missions to relocate to safer areas.
Across the region, South Korean nationals are being supported in their evacuation efforts. Notably, individuals in Qatar have safely moved to Saudi Arabia, while short-term visitors in Jordan and Kuwait have also received embassy assistance for travel arrangements.
The South Korean government has extended aid to its citizens in various Middle Eastern countries, facilitating their movement to neighboring nations for their return home. Recent efforts have seen the safe return of hundreds of South Koreans on direct flights from Dubai to Incheon International Airport.
