West London club Chelsea’s former record goal scorer, Bobby Tambling, has passed away at the age of 84. Tambling, who held the record for the most Chelsea goals for 45 years until 2013, was a key part of the team that won the League Cup in 1965. Chelsea expressed deep sorrow at the loss of their iconic player, describing him as one of their greatest ever.

Tambling’s family confirmed his peaceful passing, surrounded by loved ones, after a battle with dementia. Known for his dedication to football and Chelsea, he spent his life in the sport he loved. Born in Hayling Island, he was a product of Chelsea’s successful youth system and made his debut at just 17 years old.

The Tambling family expressed gratitude for the care Bobby received in his final years. His love for football and Chelsea was unwavering, with Stamford Bridge being his favorite place. After his playing career, Tambling moved to Cork, Ireland, where he managed local football teams, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable memories.
