Five-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), organized the ‘Roar 2026’ event at MA Chidambaram Stadium, reuniting former stars and current squad members ahead of the upcoming IPL season. Ex-CSK player S Badrinath shared a photo featuring legends like Ambati Rayudu, Matthew Hayden, Muttiah Muralitharan, and current players, posing with the team’s five IPL trophies in their old CSK jerseys.
The event witnessed iconic players such as Hussey, Bravo, and Raina coming together with current stars like captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni, Shivam Dube, and new signing Sanju Samson. Fans enthusiastically cheered for Dhoni, with chants of ‘Sanju, Sanju’ echoing in the stadium as Samson’s jerseys sold rapidly outside.
During the event, Dhoni honored players like Samson, Dube, and U19 World Cup-winning captain Ayush Mhatre with commemorative plaques. The day included an open practice session for the current squad, followed by musical performances, including one by AR Rahman, adding to the festive atmosphere.
CSK is set to kick off their 2026 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati, with subsequent matches against Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Delhi Capitals in April.
