Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have chosen to bowl first against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 66 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. CSK, facing a crucial game, are dealing with injuries and need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad introduced Gurjapneet Singh and Matthew Short into the playing XI, replacing Akeal Hosein and Prashant Veer.

Gaikwad mentioned that the pitch is expected to offer pace and bounce early on, emphasizing the importance of trusting the process. On the other side, GT, aiming to maintain momentum before the playoffs, will see Prasidh Krishna coming in for R Sai Kishore. Skipper Shubman Gill highlighted the need for overall improvement in their performance across batting, bowling, and fielding departments.

The pitch report suggests that the game will be played on a red soil pitch with square boundaries at 62 and 70 meters and a ground boundary at 72 meters. The presence of green grass indicates that the pitch is likely to provide good pace, making it favorable for batting.

The playing XIs for the match are as follows:
Chennai Super Kings: Sanju Samson (wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad (captain), Urvil Patel, Dewald Brevis, Shivam Dube, Matthew Short, Anshul Kamboj, Noor Ahmad, Spencer Johnson, Mukesh Choudhary, and Gurjapneet Singh
Gujarat Titans: B Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (captain), Jos Buttler (wk), Nishant Sindhu, Washington Sundar, Jason Holder, Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Arshad Khan, and Mohammed Siraj
