Chennaiyin FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sporting Club Delhi in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Farukh Choudhary’s early goal was the deciding factor in the game. This win propelled Chennaiyin FC to tenth place in the league table with eight points from eight matches, while SC Delhi remained in ninth place with the same points tally.

Chennaiyin FC’s head coach, Clifford Miranda, made strategic changes to the starting lineup for this match. The team displayed clear attacking intent with players like Chima Chukwu and Farukh Choudhary leading the front line. On the other hand, SC Delhi’s head coach, Tomasz Pawel Tchorz, made a single change in the lineup, aiming to counter Chennaiyin’s attacking threat.

The match saw Chennaiyin FC dominating the early proceedings, with Farukh Choudhary’s brilliant strike in the 11th minute giving them the lead. Despite SC Delhi’s efforts, they struggled to breach Chennaiyin’s defense in the first half. The visitors had their moments but failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities, ensuring Chennaiyin’s lead remained intact at halftime.

In the second half, SC Delhi showed more attacking intent but failed to convert their chances. Both teams made substitutions to influence the game’s flow, but Chennaiyin FC managed to hold onto their lead. SC Delhi pushed hard in the closing stages, but Chennaiyin’s defense stood firm to secure the 1-0 victory.
