Chennaiyin FC earned their first point in the ISL 2026 season by playing to a 1-1 draw against Odisha FC at the Kalinga Stadium. The Marina Machans took the lead through Elsinho’s goal in first-half stoppage time, but Odisha FC equalized with a header by Carlos Delgado in the second half.
Coach Clifford Miranda made changes to the starting XI, introducing Farukh Choudhary in attack and Maheson Singh in midfield for his first league start alongside Mohammed Ali Bemammer. Chennaiyin FC displayed a strong performance, with Farukh scoring the opening goal from a corner, and the team continued to press forward with attacking intent.
Despite their dominance, Chennaiyin FC had to settle for a draw as Odisha FC found an equalizer through Delgado’s header. The visitors had several chances to score but were unable to convert, ending the match in a 1-1 stalemate.
