Chennaiyin FC will wrap up their Indian Super League 2026 campaign by facing Bengaluru FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday evening. The Marina Machans aim to end the season on a positive note in front of their home fans. Head coach Clifford Rayes Miranda expressed confidence ahead of the match, acknowledging Bengaluru’s strengths and the challenges they present.
Miranda highlighted Bengaluru’s quality under a new coach and their recent victory against Jamshedpur. Despite the difficulties faced this season, Chennaiyin has shown progress in various aspects of their game. The team’s possession, vertical progression, and chance creation have been commendable, although their conversion rate in front of goal has been a concern.
During a press conference, Miranda took responsibility for the team’s performance this season, emphasizing his efforts to drive positive results. Academy graduate S Prakadeswaran, a standout player for Chennaiyin this season, shared his journey from the U13 level to the ISL and credited the coach and teammates for his development. The young player also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from fans.
Ahead of the final match, Miranda confirmed the absence of several players, including Elsinho, Mohammed Ali Bemammer, and others due to injuries or suspensions. Despite the challenges, Chennaiyin FC remains determined to give their best performance in the last game of the season.
