Chhattisgarh celebrated its 77th Republic Day with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hoisting the national flag in Bilaspur, highlighting the state’s progress in combating Maoism. Sai expressed optimism that Chhattisgarh would be free from Maoist influence by March 2026, aligning with the national goal.
The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to inclusive development, particularly in remote and tribal areas affected by insurgency. He noted the visible positive impact on surrendered Maoists, symbolizing a shift towards peace and prosperity. Recent anti-Naxal operations have allowed normalcy to return, enabling villagers in previously restricted zones to participate freely in national events.
Governor Ramen Deka led the Republic Day ceremony in Raipur, while flag-hoisting events occurred across all 32 districts with various dignitaries as chief guests. In his address, CM Sai extended Republic Day greetings and reflected on the significance of India’s Constitution, justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. He also highlighted the state’s progress in governance and development since its inception 25 years ago, emphasizing unity through initiatives like promoting “Vande Mataram.”
