The Chhattisgarh Police Headquarters has named IPS officer Jayant Vaishnav as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) responsible for the Chief Minister’s security. This decision came after the transfer of the previous SP, Harish Rathore, to Korea district. Vaishnav, currently serving as SP (Security) at the Police Headquarters in Raipur, will take on the additional role of SP for the Chief Minister’s security on a temporary basis.
Following an official order from the Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Dev Gautam on July 16, Vaishnav’s appointment was made in response to the transfer of Harish Rathore, who was serving as the SP for the Chief Minister’s security. Rathore’s transfer created a vacancy in the position, leading to Vaishnav’s new assignment. The Chhattisgarh government’s Home (Police) Department issued an order on July 10, directing Rathore’s transfer to Korea district and necessitating the appointment of a new SP for the Chief Minister’s security.
Vaishnav, who has been handling security responsibilities in the Special Branch at the Police Headquarters in Raipur, will now be responsible for overseeing the security arrangements for the Chief Minister until further orders are issued. This administrative reshuffle aims to ensure the continuity of security measures for the Chief Minister following Rathore’s relocation to lead the police in Korea district.
The official order, signed by DGP Arun Dev Gautam, has been circulated to key officials, including the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, the Principal Secretary of the Home Department, senior police officers, the Raipur Police Commissioner, and other relevant authorities for necessary action and information dissemination.
