Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar visited Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh and met with election officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs). He praised the BLOs for their work in updating electoral rolls and ensuring the accuracy of the voters’ list.
His visit coincides with the preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections in November 2027, where all 68 members will be elected. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the Special Intensive Revision – Phase III in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Manipur.
The enumeration phase for these states began on May 3, with a deadline for submitting Enumeration Forms by June 28, 2026. During this phase, BLOs conduct door-to-door visits to distribute forms and ensure maximum coverage.
To enhance participation, political parties can appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to assist in the enrollment process. The ECI’s aim is to conduct a thorough revision to prevent any eligible voter from being excluded and any ineligible person from being included in the Electoral Roll.
