Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant highlighted the importance of technology in revolutionizing the justice delivery system. He stressed that technological advancements are crucial for enhancing transparency, accessibility, and citizen-centric services, especially for those residing in remote areas.
Speaking at an event in Patna, CJI Surya Kant laid the foundation stone for seven significant infrastructure projects, including buildings like the I-Block, hospital, and multi-level parking facility. He emphasized the need for digitization of judicial records to make the system more user-friendly and to improve access to justice for marginalized communities.
Furthermore, CJI Surya Kant launched the Electronic Annual Confidential Report (e-ACR) of the Patna High Court, marking a significant advancement in judicial administration. He also underscored the importance of bridging the digital gap to ensure inclusivity in the justice system and highlighted the historical significance of Bihar in fostering open debate and knowledge exchange.
Supreme Court Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, in his address, emphasized the importance of timely justice delivery and the necessity of overcoming infrastructure challenges without compromising justice. Justice Rajesh Bindal praised the Patna High Court for providing quality justice despite resource limitations and highlighted the role of robust infrastructure in expediting judicial processes.
Acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Justice Sudhir Kumar Singh, mentioned that the total cost of the seven projects amounts to around Rs 320 crore. He emphasized that modern infrastructure is essential for enhancing the efficiency and speed of the judicial system.
