Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma recently led a meeting with BJP legislators in the ‘Haan’ lobby of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He commended the MLAs for their performance during the Assembly session and emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance in their conduct and responsibilities. Sharma reminded the legislators that their actions are constantly under public scrutiny, likening it to being watched by a “third eye.”
Sharma highlighted that the government has addressed the demands raised by legislators and assured them that their concerns are being taken seriously. He instructed ministers to visit all 200 Assembly constituencies over the next five years, spending 8 to 10 hours engaging directly with the public to grasp grassroots issues. Despite being in office for almost two years, the government, according to the Chief Minister, is not facing anti-incumbency.
The Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly concludes on Tuesday. The Assembly is set to pass the Maharana Pratap Sports University Bill, 2026, after discussion. Additionally, the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which eliminates the two-child norm for Panchayati Raj elections, was approved on Monday. The Rajasthan Municipalities (Amendment) Bill, 2026, is also expected to be passed on Tuesday, removing the restriction on individuals with more than two children from contesting local body elections.
Sharma urged party members to actively participate in the upcoming Rajasthan Day celebrations. The festivities will kick off with a Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) and a Viksit Run (development run). Various events are planned, including school essay competitions, a One District One Product exhibition, a Tribal Art exhibition, and a Yuva Shakti Mela. The program will feature interactions with industrialists, a farmers’ conference, and aarti ceremonies in temples. In Jaipur, the celebrations will culminate with a cultural evening and a fireworks display.
