Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma received a warm welcome in Jaipur upon his return following the signing of the Yamuna Water Project Memorandum of Agreement. Supporters, including BJP workers and residents, greeted him along the route from the airport to his residence. Sharma praised the agreement, stating it would bring Yamuna water to Jhunjhunu, Churu, and Sikar, benefiting the Shekhawati region.
The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of the project for Rajasthan, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the state’s population. He emphasized the project’s potential to enhance agriculture, tourism, industry, and local employment in the region. Sharma also criticized the Congress for not fulfilling the long-pending Yamuna water project despite being in power in Rajasthan and Haryana.
Sharma mentioned the project’s progress, noting the collaboration between the state government, the Centre, and the Haryana government. The initiative, estimated at over Rs 34,000 crore, aims to transport Yamuna water to Shekhawati through a large pipeline. He also mentioned advancements in other water infrastructure projects, highlighting the state’s development under the BJP government.
The Chief Minister announced Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming visit to Rajasthan for various inaugurations and events. He mentioned the creation of government jobs without any paper leak incidents and the state’s transition to a power-surplus region. BJP Rajasthan president Madan Rathore praised the Yamuna water agreement as a significant achievement, attributing its success to the BJP governments at different levels.
