Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to prioritize the safety and well-being of all citizens in Uttar Pradesh, facing challenges from both floods and droughts due to erratic rainfall. Protecting farmers’ crops and livelihoods is a key focus, as highlighted during a recent high-level review meeting. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to maintain agricultural activities in areas with insufficient rainfall, urging the maximum utilization of canals, reservoirs, and government tube wells for irrigation.

In flood-prone regions, CM Yogi has ordered the prompt setup of relief camps within three days, equipped with essential supplies like food, water, and medical aid. Special attention is to be given to vulnerable groups such as children, women, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities or health conditions. Additionally, preparations include deploying trained personnel and ensuring continuous monitoring by district authorities to oversee relief efforts effectively.

Efforts are underway to safeguard embankments against erosion and potential sabotage, with a focus on relocating and vaccinating livestock to prevent diseases. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of providing immediate housing assistance to families affected by fire incidents through the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Furthermore, urban authorities have been directed to secure open manholes to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.

Officials have reported that 42 villages across four districts are currently impacted, affecting 332 individuals. Relief operations involve a significant number of flood outposts, medical teams, boats, and shelters to aid those in need. With preparations completed in flood-prone districts, over 5 lakh people can be accommodated in designated shelters, including provisions for animals. CM Yogi has also urged officials to continue river channelization projects to enhance flood management and reduce risks of erosion and waterlogging, underscoring the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens, farmers, and livestock.
