The Chitrakoot node of the Defence Industrial Corridor saw progress as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath allocated 75 hectares of land to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for a new manufacturing unit. BEL, a Bengaluru-based public sector aerospace and defence electronics company, plans to invest around Rs 562.5 crore in setting up the unit, which is anticipated to create over 300 jobs in the near term.

This move marks a significant step in the structured development of the Chitrakoot defence node, enhancing the defence manufacturing infrastructure in the state and boosting industrial growth in the Bundelkhand region. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the project’s role in positioning Uttar Pradesh as a robust player in defence manufacturing, fostering economic and industrial progress in Bundelkhand.

Speaking on the initiative, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that the establishment of an advanced manufacturing unit by Bharat Electronics Limited for radar and air defence systems will not only bolster high technology-based production in the defence sector but also drive industrial efficiency and technical capabilities in the state. The Chitrakoot node’s strategic location and logistical connectivity are expected to make it a hub for investment, job creation, and technology-driven industrial advancements.
