Chota Nagpur Royals emerged victorious in the first Jharkhand T20 Cricket League, defeating Jamshedpur Steelers at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. Despite a competitive start by the Steelers, the Royals secured a seven-wicket win, claiming the league’s inaugural title.
Batting first, Jamshedpur Steelers set a challenging target of 180/8 in 20 overs. The innings saw a strong opening partnership but faltered as Harsh Rana’s explosive 64 off 26 deliveries shifted the momentum in favor of the Steelers.
In response, Chota Nagpur Royals faced an early setback with the dismissal of skipper Virat Singh for just 1 run. However, a remarkable partnership between Kumar Kushagra and Himanshu Dwivedi, totaling 110 runs, propelled the Royals to victory. Kushagra’s unbeaten 78 off 39 balls sealed the win for the Royals in 17.2 overs, finishing at 184/3.
For the Royals, a collective bowling effort and stellar batting display overshadowed the efforts of Jamshedpur Steelers’ bowlers, securing a well-deserved championship victory.
