Hollywood actor Christian Bale revealed that he dedicated six hours to makeup to become Frankenstein’s monster in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s film ‘The Bride’. The movie is a modern take on the 1935 classic ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ and stars Jessie Buckley as the lead. Buckley, who portrays the Bride, also underwent a significant transformation, spending an hour and a half in the makeup chair.
Bale shared his experience of the challenging makeup process, expressing how he would scream daily to cope with the long hours of sitting still. He mentioned that the entire crew eventually joined in the screaming sessions, creating a supportive and lively atmosphere on set.
Known for his commitment to physical transformations, Bale’s dedication to his roles is evident. From extreme weight loss for ‘The Machinist’ to bulking up for ‘American Psycho’ through an all-protein diet, he has consistently pushed boundaries for his craft. His dedication extended to gaining 100 pounds of muscle in six months to portray Bruce Wayne in ‘Batman Begins’.
