Clashes along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border have led to the disruption of education for approximately 12,000 Afghan students, as reported by the United Nations. In Kunar province, Afghanistan, where villages have been partially emptied and schools damaged, many children are unable to attend school.
Reports indicate that at least 22 schools in Kunar have been impacted or destroyed, depriving thousands of children of access to education. The escalating tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have resulted in repeated exchanges of fire in border areas, causing a humanitarian crisis with Afghan residents forced to flee their homes.
The ongoing conflict has not only damaged school buildings but also cut off students from crucial learning opportunities. Displaced families are struggling to access basic necessities like food, shelter, and education for their children, prompting calls for international assistance to alleviate their plight.
Local sources in Kunar province disclosed that several houses in Sarkano district were damaged due to Pakistani airstrikes. The attacks, which began at midnight and lasted until the following morning, caused explosions in various parts of Sarkano. Despite the airstrikes targeting areas in Asadabad, no casualties were reported there.
