Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, heading the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, has given the green light to four expressway projects in Vidarbha, totaling 547 km. These projects aim to link Maharashtra’s eastern and western borders through high-speed expressways. Fadnavis emphasized the need for swift progress and timely completion of these crucial projects.
The approved projects include the Nagpur–Gondia Expressway, Bhandara–Gadchiroli Expressway, Nagpur–Chandrapur Expressway, and the Navegaon More–Konsari to Surjagarh Greenfield Road. Fadnavis highlighted the significance of these projects in enhancing connectivity between the eastern and western regions of Maharashtra, marking a significant milestone in Vidarbha’s development. He stressed the importance of connecting the Navegaon More-Surjagarh route to the Samruddhi Mahamarg for efficient mineral transport.
Furthermore, Fadnavis instructed officials to explore a proposed tunnel road linking western Maharashtra to the Konkan region and present a detailed plan for the project. He emphasized the state’s commitment to advancing towards integrated, high-speed, and inclusive development through prioritizing seamless infrastructure.
