Coempt Eduteck, the edtech company involved in the CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) controversy, has addressed concerns by emphasizing that the scanners used are standard industry-grade models regularly upgraded for high-resolution scanning. The company has assured that its records are open for scrutiny by government bodies to maintain transparency.
Responding to allegations of altering tender conditions for substandard hardware, the Hyderabad-based firm refuted such claims. It explained that cases of blurred images are under systematic review in collaboration with relevant evaluation authorities to ensure accuracy.
In a specific incident where a student received the wrong answer sheet, Coempt clarified that the issue stemmed from a manual oversight during the physical scanning process, not a software glitch. The company has identified the responsible individual and location, confirming the absence of technological errors in the case.
Despite minor challenges, Coempt reported successful delivery of answer sheets to nearly 95% of students. Additionally, addressing a security breach by a 19-year-old hacker, the company clarified that the breach occurred on a testing server not used for client operations, ensuring the security of student data and technical infrastructure.
